I’m an amateur cyclist, which means I plan most of my own routes. I often find myself creating a route while checking Windy.com at the same time, ideally trying to finish with a nice tailwind. I’m also a software developer, so I figured I could probably build a better way to solve this.

Existing tools like myWindSock and Epic Ride Weather solve this problem, but they come with a trade-off: accounts, and uploading your route data to external servers. I wanted something simpler, and more importantly, something privacy-friendly.
I came up with WindaAhead.app. It’s open-source, free, requires no login, and everything stays on your device. I’d love to hear your feedback.
